wInsight Glue

wInsight Glue products simplify the tedious task of correlating schedule data with performance measurement data in Deltek wInsight. There are two versions of wInsight Glue – Glue Viewer and Glue for Microsoft Project.

Glue Viewer, combined with wInsight, provides a powerful and timesaving tool set to focus team leaders, engineers and financial managers on integrated performance management of their projects. Glue Viewer is a Windows-based application designed to display schedule- related information from various commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and legacy scheduling tools via a standard Extendable Markup Language (XML) file. Glue Viewer allows the user to display schedules with hundreds of thousands of activities that could have originated from a variety of scheduling tools. It does not recalculate any scheduled dates, but displays the selected data exactly as it appears in the source scheduling tool database.

In addition to displaying schedule data, Glue Viewer has the ability to build custom filters, custom views and synchronizes the viewing of earned value and schedule data. By clicking on an account in wInsight, Glue Viewer automatically filters to show only those schedule activities related to the selected account in wInsight.

Glue for Project functions as an automation broker between wInsight and Microsoft Project to synchronize the viewing of earned value and schedule data. By clicking on an account in wInsight, Glue for Project automatically filters Microsoft Project to show only those activities related to the selected account in wInsight. Further, Glue for Project has management-by-exception capabilities that enable the user to isolate the activities for that account that meet predetermined management metrics.
